(More customer reviews)The picture looks great, and it sounded like just what I needed - a scoreboard and somewhere to keep my spare set of snooker balls readily to hand. Now, a snooker ball set has 22 balls - and not the 16 of pool. Whilst the picture shows a set of pool balls on the top two shelves the description states ".... and 3 shelves to store pool balls". If 2 shelves hold 16 pool balls then 3 shelves should hold 22 snooker balls - right? I felt uneasy but knowingly took the chance. Alas, that 3rd shelf is just that - a shelf. The top two shelves have a grove for holding the balls, the bottom one is just a plain flat shelf. I actually drilled 6 neat evenly spaced ½" holes through the bottom shelf and that's now where the yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black safely reside.
However, what was really disappointing was the quality of the item. The assembly joints are cracked, the balls mounted on the scoreboard are poorly attached at various angles, the wires (are they made from old wire coat hangers?) along which the scoring pegs run are bent and bowed making it difficult to move the scoring pegs, and the paint job .... well my youngest son could have done better. Oh, and they could surely have used paint brushes that didn't molt their bristles into the finished paint?
A note on packaging - it arrived in the manufacturer's original weak cardboard box - extremely beaten and dilapidated looking. Amazingly it didn't seem to have suffered any shipping damage but how I don't know .... unless that helps explain why the scoring wires are so bent and bowed?
In short, GREAT idea but would benefit from that third shelf holding balls and is in need of some quality workmanship being applied somewhere in the product. You'd really really have to like that "rustic homemade look and feel" to be satisfied with this product.
